What are We Doing?
SABAH (Society of Bosnian Americans and Herzegovinians) aka American Islamic Center provides Religious, Educational, Cultural and Recreational foundation for positive youth development and advancement. Why?
Our community is facing serious religious identity crisis. SABAH overall goal is to develop a long-term, sustainable solution for this generation and those to come.
Our Mission is pursuing comprehensive strategies to meet the various needs of the Bosnian-American children, youth and adults. Improving the areas of cultural and religious identity, wellness promotion and prevention, as well as a strong focus on building and preserving positive character development, while fostering interfaith dialogue and working with the local community.
Building Strong Community
SABAH symbolizes the growth, development, and most of all recognition of an Islamic Community to maintain its vision of having healthy and attractive alternatives for surrounding youth, and community members. SABAH’s mission is to build a strong community by offering programs that develop a healthy spirit, mind and body. Based on Islamic values, SABAH strives to identify and assess the needs of its community members of Bosnian background in an effort to provide social, educational, spiritual, and recreational programs aimed at developing stronger individuals capable of benefiting their community and society at large via:
Congregational Prescribed Prayers, Community Center Activities, Youth Programs, Educational Programs, Weekend School, Hajj Trips, Marriage Services, Funeral Services, Counseling, Arbitration, Center for Abused Women.
